Three Berlin artists

About this exhibition

Three painters, one room, three very different ways of working. Each was shown with three pieces.

Elke Selter, born in 1973, has lived in Berlin since 1999 and came to large-format oil and acrylic painting from portraiture and fashion design. Her paintings gather several impressions into a single image. On view were Kontakt, Vollkostbarkeit and Nur der Blick wandelt das Werden und Sein.

Kerstin Hansel, born in Berlin in the 1960s, works between painting, collage and mixed media. Found objects, typography and street art build up layer by layer; the West Berlin of the 1980s still runs through her work. Shown here were Fuego, King and Short Stories.

Eva Mathes, born in Bamberg in 1996, paints without a plan: colour, form and idea all come about in the doing. Her pieces were Ursula und Mursula, In anderen Welten and Poulette.
